 17-year-old jailed for nightclub murder

The High Court Sitting at Gweru has convicted a 17-year-old male juvenile, Trinity Fanati, of murder, the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) is reporting.The Court sentenced him to 15 years imprisonment for the murder of Tawanda Muzvihwi, who was also 17 years old at the time of his death.The state proved that on the 1st of January 2024, at Donga Business Centre, Shurugwi, Fanati stabbed Muzvihwi after a misunderstanding at Cheeky Tiger Nite Club.Fanati inflicted the wound once in the chest with a sharp object and fled the scene.The cause of death was determined to be cardiac tamponade, heart laceration and a stab wound to the chest.
