Mutare man charged with attempted murder

Charity  Jori   Mutare man charged with attempted murder 22-04 -25   A Mutare man, Edward Muhamba, appeared in court last week charged with three counts of attempted murder and malicious damage to property. The 50 year old businessman allegedly petrol bombed a house in the Greenside suburb, injuring three people.According to police, the incident occurred on 19April at around 5 pm when Muhamba allegedly threw a petrol bomb through the window of the house. The occupants, who were asleep, were awoken by the explosion and sustained serious injuries. The victims were rushed to Mutare Provincial Hospital where they received treatment for their injuries. Muhamba was arrested at the scene and later appeared in court.The state alleges that Muhamba had a motive for the attack, citing a long-standing business dispute between the accused and the victims.
